This CROMOCON APP is the software for the CROMOCON SYSTEM. The CROMOCON METER provides the LRV measurement of surfaces for the APP. The APP calculates from data entered manually and tells the user whether something is going to be visible to 93% of visually impaired people. The software works by using FIVE interdependent variables; the user enters 4 bits of data manually:

1 Visual Ability Groups is a fixed default at 93% of visually impaired people (V4 – V9) so nothing is required. Can recognize a friend if close to his/her face is V4, and V9 Can recognize a friend from across the road
2 Contrast is the difference between two adjacent surface LRVs – One minus the other. Using the CROMOCON METER to read the two LRVs enter the result manually. You can also calculate the contrast from LRVs that the manufacturers of the materials give out – e.g. Flooring LRV, Wall Paint LRV etc. LRV numbers run from 0 (Black) to 100 (White)
3 Lux Level is set at a start-up useful default of 400 Lux (a fairly well lit room) but can be changed by entering data from a LUX METER if available.
4 Dimension can then be entered; the smallest dimension is required so if a large column on a forecourt then the width/diameter would be the right number, not the height. Always the smallest dimension.
5 Distance should be the optimum distance the surface or object should be seen at.

Purchasers of the downloadable app will be entitled to any upgrade of the software developments and further versions. Support and advice for users is always available at [email protected]
